Export image
Image output includes visible artwork. Selection only exports just the selected region. Open .ora / .psd imports a Krita/GIMP/Photoshop archive as layers; .drawcula is the native portable format.
Images and OpenRaster support up to 8192 px per side and 16 megapixels. PSD supports up to 30,000 px per side and 16 megapixels. If Natural is too large or smaller than one document pixel, choose an image output size above.
Text
Static TrueType faces, up to 2 MiB and 4096 glyphs. Fonts stay with this paper. Complex-script shaping is not supported.
Tap the canvas to place text, then type. Select the Text tool, tap where the text should start, and a box appears. Use the handles in free-transform mode to move/scale/rotate.
Assistants

Drag between horizon points for straight perspective, or across the diameter for a curved field. Drag a handle to adjust; select a handle first to move a whole guide by its lines.

Drag from the centre to set a radial axis, or between copies for linear spacing. The newest repeat guide copies new brush marks, including the original. Hide guides to draw once. Kaleidoscope needs an even count; existing ink stays independent.

Ruler, perspective, ellipse and isometric guides drag across the canvas to place. Symmetry is added at the canvas center (choose axis above). An ellipse starts circular; drag its red minor-axis handle to change height. Isometric grids have eight cells each way. A stroke snaps to the nearest guide; hold Shift to draw freehand. The mirror of each stroke is recorded when symmetry is on. To adjust a placed guide, press and drag its handle, vanishing point, or line on the canvas; tap the ✕ on a selected guide to delete it.
Tip: adjust a placed guide directly on canvas — press and drag a handle / line, and use the ✕ on a selected guide to remove it without opening this panel.

Repeat tile

Tile PNG keeps these original cells and mask. Canvas placement, outer layer masks and composition effects belong to the canvas export.

The outlined centre is one tile. Neighbours repeat it; painting across an edge wraps. This tile's cells stay fixed when enlarged on the infinite canvas.

Choose a region and open a tile.

Paint study

Relief lighting

Lighting changes the appearance of the finite paint height. Pigments and brush load stay unchanged; Apply keeps this lighting with the study.

A small editable painting on your infinite canvas. Watercolour spreads after each stroke; loaded paint runs out as you paint. Swatches and medium responses are artistic approximations.

Open a study to start painting.

Brush

Use the selected tool with one finger. Two fingers navigate. Finger strength is constant.

Tip and colour dynamics

Lower coverage leaves broken, dry marks. Spacing is a percentage of the brush diameter; zero uses a continuous tip.

PNG, JPEG or still WebP. Grain crops the centre square; tips fit the whole image into a 256 px mask for freehand dabs. Up to 2048 px per side, 4 MiB; 16 images per paper.

Uses reported pen tilt when available. Zero or missing reports leave this brush unchanged.

Smooth reduces small wobbles. Pulled string follows behind your pointer. Higher corner response catches up sooner at turns. Lift stops the stroke where the brush is.

Paint & retouch

Starts with the current colour; 0% begins dry and picks up paint.

Loaded colour #000000

0% glazes over paint; 100% blends into paint.

Drag across painted colour. Lifting applies the blend as one undoable edit.

Selection

Ctrl/Cmd+C, X, V; Ctrl/Cmd+J duplicates. Paste keeps the original canvas location on new layers.
Numeric transform
Values replace the current preview, relative to the selection when Free transform began. Negative width or height flips it.
Marquee transforms whole strokes and images. Apply keeps one undo step; Cancel restores the originals.
Lasso: drag a freehand loop. Polygon: click vertices; the loop closes when you return near the first point. Magic wand: click a region. Painting and filling are clipped to the active selection. Deselect (or Ctrl+D / Esc) clears it.

Filter

Changes visible paint on the active layer. A selection limits the affected region; paint outside it and later strokes stay in place. Undo restores the previous result.

Fill options

Choose line art, paint on a layer below it, and tap a region. Lower gap closing if a narrow region disappears; zoom for finer detail.

Tap a colour region to fill.

Gradient

Start and end pickers change the first and last stops. Use the stop editor for positions and opacity.

Merge visible artwork?

Layer separation will be removed. Hidden layers remain, but showing them later may change their stacking relative to the merged artwork. You can undo this merge.

Layers

Copies retain layer opacity, blend, masks and clipping. The destination stack determines their composite.
Mask editing: the brush hides, the eraser reveals. Turn Mask off to paint ink again.
